Professional Journey
IT Co-op Student at Ground Effects Ltd.
September 2023 - December 2023
At Ground Effects, I immersed myself in collaborative IT infrastructure management, working across multiple teams to optimize software utilization and user education. My analytical approach led to the creation of comprehensive master documents and interactive diagrams that mapped out software costs, I/O processes, and use cases.
A highlight of my tenure was leading a company-wide seminar on new software implementation, demonstrating my ability to bridge technical knowledge with effective communication. I developed a document augmentation script that significantly improved efficiency, saving over 4 hours per execution.
IT Operations Manager at Pernod-Ricard Walkerville
January 2023 - April 2023
In my role at Pernod-Ricard, I took charge of investigating and implementing solutions for complex software-related challenges. Working closely with the IT team, I managed software licenses and administration, while providing comprehensive support across the organization.
My impact was particularly evident in the successful resolution of hundreds of tickets relating to server builds, decommissions, and various technological issues, demonstrating my ability to handle complex IT operations efficiently.
IT Co-op Student at Windsor-Detroit Bridge Authority
May 2022 - August 2022
During my time at WDBA, I played a key role in researching and planning efficient hardware installations while implementing solutions for various technical challenges. My collaboration with the IT team extended to comprehensive software management and utilization projects.
A significant achievement was my ability to optimize senior employees' time by independently managing lower-priority projects, allowing them to focus on critical tasks while ensuring consistent IT support across the organization.
Technological Specialist at Oxford County Library
April 2017 - May 2020
Since childhood, I've taken a strong interest in technology, which proved itself useful when it provided an opportunity to serve members of my community with technological aid. At Oxford County Library, I cultivated an environment where technology became accessible to everyone, regardless of their expertise level.
My role encompassed not just technical support but also educational outreach, where I designed and delivered personalized instruction to diverse groups of clients. Through maintaining library systems and creating engaging visual displays, I helped bridge the digital divide in our community while honing my skills in technical problem-solving and client communication.
Junior Counsellor With War Amps
October 2016 - August 2024
My journey with The War Amps has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. As a Junior Counsellor, I've had the privilege of mentoring and supporting young amputees and their families, sharing insights and guidance drawn from my own experiences.
During weekend-long conferences across Ontario, I've led seminars and facilitated discussions that help families navigate the unique challenges and opportunities that come with being an amputee. This role has not only allowed me to give back to the community but has also strengthened my abilities in public speaking, empathetic communication, and leadership.
In their own words.
